Gastroenteritis commonly called diarrhea is one of the many diseases that occur in Indonesia. Gastroenteritis can attack in all age groups. Not rarely the disease causing death in the sufferer. This is due to ketidakmampan the sufferer to tolerate the loss of electrolytes and fluids from her body.
Gastroenteritis is an inflammation that occurs in the stomach and intestines that give you the symptoms of diarrhea with or without vomitingaccompanied by dehydration. Gastroenteritis refers to defecate abnormal stool form or that dilute with more frequency than usual (Sowdent, 2005).
- Figures for the incidence of diarrhea, in most areas of Indonesia until now still high. Household Health Survey (SKRT) in 2004 the mortality rate due to diarrhea 23 per 100 thousand inhabitants. During the year 2006 as much as 41 counties in 16 provinces reporting OUTBREAK of diarrhea in its territory. The number of cases of diarrhea were reported as many as 277 of which 10,980 and cause death. This, primarily becauseof low availability of clean water, poor sanitation and unhealthy lifestyles (asri Tadda, 2010).
Actually many things that can be done to prevent the occurrence of diarrhea, as the public should be aware that health it more than anything. Based on the above the author compiled a working paper entitled "the nursing care of clients with Gastroenteritis".
